This week, work began on Montreal’s new electronic transit system, carried out by Université de Montreal. The network will be the second largest of its kind in North America.

The planned light rail system (REM) will connect 26 stations across the island of Montreal and Montreal suburbs.

These are the new stations that will soon be accessible by the REM:

West Island 

  • Deux Montagnes
  • Grand Moulin (Deux-Montagnes)
  • Sainte-Dorothée
  • Île Bigras

  • Pierrefonds-Roxboro

  • Sunnybrooke
  • Sainte Anne de Bellevue
  • Kirkland
  • Pointe Claire
  • Des Sources (Pointe-Claire)
  • Technoparc Montreal
  • Montreal-Trudeau Airport
  • Bois Franc
  • Du Ruisseau (Cartierville)
  • Montpellier

Central 

  • Mont Royal
  • Canora (Cote des Neiges)
  • McGill
  • Bonaventure Central Station
  • Bassin Peel
  • Ile des Soeurs

South Shore

  • Panama (Longueuil)
  • Du Quartier (Quartier DIX30)
  • Rive-Sud

North Shore

The REM network is due to officially launch by 2020.
